Alex Khantivong, 76, died on September 10th, 2021, at Holladay Healthcare Center, in Holladay, Utah.  He was born on June 5th, 1945, in Vientiane, Laos.

Alex migrated to the United States from Laos in 1980. He received his U.S. citizenship on February 27th,1992. He worked as a production operator for a medical company in Taylorsville, Utah, for 16 years before retiring in 2006. Upon retiring, Alex ordained as a Buddhist monk, and practiced becoming detached from the world to seek spiritual enlightenment.

Alex is survived by his children, Chanthachone Khantivong, Minniella Gonzalez, Douangphone Khantivong, Mayuri Phamoung, Sam Khantivong, Daniel Khantivong, and grandchildren, Kaitlyn Khantivong and Lindar Phouangsouk. He is preceded in death by his parents. 

A ceremony will be held for Alex 100 days after his death, to honor him.
