Julene Jensen Valdez

Julene Jensen Valdez lost her battle with cancer on Sunday May 21, 2023. All her life she battled health problems and was strong in that way. She had a big heart and loved animals. She had lots of friends and love to laugh and joke around. She would do anything for anyone. Julene loved all the holidays,
especially Halloween and dressing up for it. She loved to work in the garden and loved the outdoors. She would always help her brother no matter what the project was. She supported her nieces and nephews. Julene worked for Alpine School District, as a lunch lady for 30 years before retiring. She then
went onto work for Alpine Country Club for 20+ years. She had great relationships with the members and made a lot of friends working there. Julene was an excellent cook and loved making delicious meals and baked goods for anyone. She would always send home food with you.

Julene Jensen Valdez was born August 7, 1951, to Darwin Dean Jensen and Frances Irene Otto Jensen. She was the third of five children. She grew up in Pleasant Grove, Utah, and graduated from Pleasant Grove High School. She married Ben Valdez in December 1969 and they were later divorced in 1985. They had 3 children, Tammy, Anne, and Adam.

Julene was preceded in death by her father, Darwin Dean Jensen, mother Frances Irene Otto Jensen, sister Dawn Marie Jensen Hunt Berg, sister Kathryn Jensen Fowers, and grandson Nathan Haun. She is survived by her brother, Perry Dean Jensen (Joni Jensen) sister Mindy Jensen Wise (Carey Wise), daughter Tammy Haun (Preston Haun) daughter Anne Valdez, son Adam Valdez, 4 grandkids, 2 great
grandkids, and many more cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Her last 3 years of her life she lived with her friend Lenna Learned. They were able to travel and garden together. Julene liked helping her with her puppies. She really enjoyed these last 3 years even though her health was declining. Julene's family is very grateful for Lenna and her friendship and kindness and help that she gave to our mom. Thank you, Lenna.

Julene will be missed by family, friends, and all the people she came in contact with throughout her careers and life.
