Patricia Imes

1942 - 2023

Patricia Imes

Our beloved mother, Patricia Imes, age 81, passed away peacefully October 1, 2023 surrounded by her family after a short illness.

Pat was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend.

She dedicated her life to her family. She was beautiful in every way possible. She was tremendously kind, patient, and generous to a fault. Everyone who met her or knew her loved her. There were no exceptions.

She leaves behind her husband of 60 years, Roy Imes and, her loyal and devoted children, Jennifer Imes and Holly Imes (both of Salt Lake City) and Jamie James (Michelle) of Portsmouth, Ohio. She has two grandsons, Isaac Pantke (Sky) and Elijah Stark (Yanna) all of Utah and one granddaughter Milyn James of Portsmouth, Ohio. She will be missed terribly by her beloved sister-in-law Kathy Early of Stout, Ohio.

She leaves behind extended family – sister-in-law Margaret Imes, nephew Ralph Imes (Tammy) and nieces Michelle Imes and Debbie Johnson of Portsmouth, Ohio, and Cyn Mackley (Tim) of Toledo, Ohio, many lifelong friends too many to name and cousins by the dozens.

She is preceded in death by her parents John and Myrtle (Brown) Early, brother David Early and niece Kelly Early.

She was born in Portsmouth, Ohio in 1942 on her parent’s 1st wedding anniversary. She was a 1960 graduate of Portsmouth West High School. She attended Columbus Business College and went on to marry Roy and have two daughters, later bringing Jamie into the fold.

She retired from the Ohio Department of Health and Human Services. She was an active member of the Down by the River Quilt Guild. Many hours were spent making quilts for family, friends, and foster children. She was an avid cook and loved playing board games with the family. Cheating at UNO was her favorite! She spent many years volunteering for New Boston Little League and Sun ‘n Fun Land Pool. She loved Christmas and is renowned for over-the-top Christmas decorating.

However, her pride and joy were her two grandsons. She bragged without ceasing how handsome and intelligent they are and boasting of their athletic accomplishments.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, CNAs and caregivers at A Plus Hospice for their exceptional care of both mom and the family during this difficult time (special shout-out to Christian Dives, RN) and to the many dedicated caregivers at The Wellington. You all are amazing!

A memorial service and spreading of her ashes will occur at a later date.

We will miss you and think of you everyday Mom. Thank you for a lifetime of love, support, patience, laughter and wonderful memories. We’ll have a blue, blue Christmas without you.
