Kathleen A. Escobar

1952 - 2023

Kathleen A. Escobar

Kathleen A. Escobar, of West Jordan, UT, passed away peacefully while surrounded by
family on December 29, 2023.
She was born April 5, 1952, raised by her wonderful mother, Margie Moulton, who
proceeded her in death along with her brothers Jim, Rick, and her sister Judy.
Survived by her brothers Doug, Eric and Phil, sister Marva, her children- Angela, Camie
(Brian), Jeana (Steven), David (Breanna) and the grandchildren she truly cherished-Shane,
Taryn, Ashleigh, Noah, Hannah, and Hailee.
She married Mauricio Escobar (Susanne) in 1971. Although divorced, they remained friends
throughout life.
Kathleen loved her family fiercely, always thinking of others first. She was a source of
inspiration for those that knew her, an incredibly funny and intelligent lady that knew “a
little bit about a lot of stuff”, and a compassionate caregiver, which inspired her to follow
that passion into her professional life as a Nurse.
She graduated from Jackson-Wilson High School, later attending SLCC where she
graduated as an RN in 1992. She started her nursing career at St. Marks Hospital. Over the
years, she worked in PCU, ICU, and ARC. She also spent time as a traveling nurse, going
where the need for medical care was greatest- a true testament to her character and the
person she was.
She was proud to be able to follow her passion, where she helped hundreds of her patients
find comfort and peace under her care.
She enjoyed cooking, sewing, crafting, fishing, woodworking, fixing up the house (1/2 of a
project at a time) and most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her children and
grandchildren. Whether it was a movie, a meal, or a drive, she always seized the
opportunity to spend time together.
Kathleen desired that her cremated remains be spread across Jackson, WY, and The Salt
Flats of Utah, allowing for her to go “where the winds may take me.”
A special thank you to Mom’s best friends Jane Budge, Dawn Kent, Deb Matthews and of
course Pam Williams who spent nearly every day at the hospital reading to and visiting
with Mom.
We love you all so much.
