Brian Craig Johnson

1962 - 2024

Brian Craig Johnson

Brian Craig Johnson (61) passed away peacefully on February 17, 2024, in American Fork, Utah. He was born in Fresno, California, on June 24, 1962, to Iris Helen (Schlerf) and Harvey Thayne Johnson.

Brian was caring, charismatic, creative, and full of life. His heart was big, and his selfless and thoughtful nature was contagious. He enjoyed being an electrician(Sparky) and an all-around fix-it man. His loves in life were his family, friends, music, film, building things, and living in the present moment. The Rocky Mountains and great outdoors are what Brian called home the most. So much so that his grandchildren called him Grandpa Mountain Man. He was the life of the party, a friend to so many, and helped anyone in any way he could. He was a great man and will forever be in our hearts!

Brian is survived by his daughters, Sina Penrod (Mikal) and Jamie Lawson(Kirk, Jared), and seven grandchildren: Gabrielle, Hannah Iris, Lilly, Alivya, Sadie, Lilah, and Kiryn.

Siblings: Kevin Johnson, Darla Rogers, and Terri Burgener(Jon), along with 16 nieces and nephews. Brian and his former wife, Shawn Lukins(Steven), maintained a great friendship throughout his life. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey Thayne, Iris Helen (Schlerf), and oldest brother Curtis (Barbara)

A celebration of life (open forum) will be held from 1:00-3:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 24, 2024 , at Canyon Glen Park, 1501 East Provo Canyon Road, Provo, Utah 84601.

In place of flowers, please go hiking or stargazing, enjoy a concert, or plant something for Brian. And send him all the love on his next adventure!

The family would also like to thank Holy Cross Hospital, American Fork, for supporting Brian and letting him go out in style!
