Roland Glynn Porter

On Saturday, June 1 st , Glynn lost his brave fight with cancer. Glynn was a father, grandfather, coworker and above all great Friend. He lived a full life and always had a project going. Glynn was an incredibly talented hair stylist who worked in and owned several salons over the years. This is where he met many clients who quickly turned into his lifelong friends. Outside of the salon, Glynn worked on home projects including tiling, painting and wood working. He called himself a “handy man”. Those who knew him called him an “artist”. His talents were endless. He was an amazing chef that cooked all kinds of delicious foods and desserts, everything from curried chicken to Shephard’s pie and don’t forget about the boozy tiramisu. When Glynn wasn’t working or creating something, he was spending time with his family and beloved dogs. His grandchildren and great grandchildren were his pride and joy. He spent a lot of time fishing, camping, golfing, and watching sporting events. Glynn was a kind, gentle soul. We will miss his quick wit, sense of humor, his animated stories, and his how-to-advice on just about any home project.

We want to thank all of the family and friends that were willing to help Glynn over the past few months, especially his best friend, Jarrod Gann. Glynn cherished the long phone conversations and visits with everyone. This is what helped ease his pain and give him hope. He truly cherished the relationships with his family, friends and clients. You made him feel like he was part of your lives, and you were a big part of his life. He was so proud of each and every one of you. Thank you for the happiness you gave him.

His legacy will live on through his three surviving sons and their wives: Christian and Kristi, Jamen and Mandi, Keegan and Heather, 8 beautiful grandchildren: Braden, Teag, Cole, Cayden, Abbey, Brady, Sam and Max, and most importantly his 2 great grandchildren: Ethan and Antonella. He is also survived by his sweet siblings: Karalinn (Calvin), Robert (Michelle), Khem (JoLeigh), and RusCene, many nieces and nephews that were so dear to him and lastly, his adorable dog Bambi.

“Goodbyes are not forever, are not the end; it simply means I’ll miss you until we meet again.”- Unknown
