Richard Tyler Coates' life was tragically cut short on December 13, 2024. He was born on February 19, 1979 to his parents Larry and Kerry Coates. He was their 4th son. His mom called him her baby son his entire life. He also had a little sister added to his family when he was 3 years old. Tyler was raised in Farmington Utah and made lifelong friends there. From the time Tyler was a little boy he could light a room up with his smile and his comedic ways. He was the happiest little boy ever. He had passion for sports and played Football, Baseball and he started Skiing as a little boy. In his teenage years he moved to snowboarding. He has loved being on the mountain snowboarding most of his life. Tyler also enjoyed golf and got to spend quality time with his Big brothers golfing over the years. He enjoyed spending time at the Utah Jazz games. He got to spend so much time with the people he loved going to the games. Ty always had a love for music and found ways to incorporate in his life always. Whether it was festivals or concerts or simply sharing a song with someone he loved. Tyler always had an entrepreneurial spirit from the time he was a young boy and he decided to start a business renting his Nintendo games to others. He would later go on to buy his fathers business Boxpac in SLC and ran it for many years until he decided to pursue his dream of opening his own Brewery. That dream never came to fruition but that led to his adventure with Deseret Basin. Tyler’s proudest title came In November 2003 He became a dad. His first daughter was born November 12, 2003 Tylee Jamin Coates and he welcomed his second Daughter Leabella Sage Coates on March 19, 2007. He absolutely adored his beautiful girls. Tyler and the girl's mother Sarah were united in giving the girls the most Loving and supported life possible. Tyler loved to Travel and could spend so much time on the beach and in the water. He has been able to travel the world and that brought him so much joy. Tyler had the kindest heart and would literally do anything for anyone. Nothing brought him more joy than to be able to help the people he loved in their times of need. His love was endless for everyone. Tyler was always entertaining us and keeping us laughing. He was so charismatic. He has touched more lives than I can put into words. No matter what he was facing personally he always looked out for others. Being around his Family and Friends was something he treasured. It has been an honor and a privilege to have him on this earth for 45 years.
Tyler is survived by his Daughters Tylee and Leabella and their mother Sarah Coates, His mother Kerry, 4 siblings and countless family & friends. He was preceded in Death by his Father Larry Coates and his grandparents.
Please Join us at the Farmington Community Arts Center, 120 S. Main Street, Farmington, UT 84025 on December 28, 2024 to celebrate his life. We will be holding his memorial at 11:30 AM and He will be buried in the Farmington Cemetery following the services.
