Alvin Ronald “Joe” Johanson

Joe was born on July 13, 1952 to Ross and Verna Johanson. He passed away on February 26, 2025 from COPD, after a valiant battle with cancer.

Joe graduated from Highland High School in 1970 and attended the University of Utah and Utah Technical College. He was a bartender at Widow McCoys in Salt Lake City during the 70’s and 80’s. He was a well-known Land Surveyor for over 30 years, applying his trade in Utah, Nevada, and California. During his career, Joe served as Vice President of U.C.L.S. (Utah Council of Land Surveyors). His hobbies included skiing, biking, watching NFL, flower-gardening, and sunbathing on any beach or boat. Most of all Joe enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, with a glass of wine in hand.

Joe is survived by; brother Richard Johanson, son Jared Baxter (Michelle), daughters Tiffany Battad (Chuck), and Lisa Parry (Lance). Joe also leaves behind 9 grandchildren, 2 great- grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and his kitties Scarlett Johanson and Z-boy. He also leaves behind many special friends in the Salt Lake City and Mesquite Nevada areas. He is preceded in death by his parents Ross and Verna Johanson, his brother Sherman Ross Johanson, and his two sisters Sheron Bemis and Sally Canavan.

Joe was always the life of the party and will be greatly missed.
