Jamison Mark Vierig

Jamison Mark Vierig passed away on March 8, 2025, at the age of 51, in Murray, Utah.

Jamison was born November 6, 1973 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to David Vierig and Pamela Strong Vierig. Jamison lived in many areas in the Salt Lake Valley throughout his childhood, his fondest memories were from the years spent in Park City, Utah. Throughout his childhood he was involved in one shenanigan or another, usually with a sibling or cousin in tow, and always with a smile on his face. He enjoyed skiing in the winters, playing soccer and riding horses in the summer, and making friends everywhere he went.

Jamison has two children, Zachary and Rylee. Their childhood was full of good times with their dad. Whether it was riding bikes in the neighborhood, soccer games on weekends, slip and slide in the backyard, easter egg hunts, trick or treating or being the volunteer dad on numerous school field trips, they could always count on him to bring the fun to any activity.

He worked in many trades throughout his lifetime but his favorites were the time he spent in Wyoming working as a wrangler and musher; he welcomed and enjoyed the many challenges of a cold, snowy Wyoming winter, and time spent working alongside his family tending to their honeybee hives and harvesting honey.

One of his biggest and proudest accomplishments was competing in a Spartan race in the Summer of 2019. In typical Jamison fashion he finished muddy and exhausted but loving every minute of the experience. Jamison was a certified dog handler. His big old stubborn Golden Retriever Ruger was his sidekick. He trained Ruger to sniff out drugs and together they had many adventures and stories to tell. He especially enjoyed the times he and Ruger spent visiting elementary schools, talking with the kids, and letting Ruger show off.

Jamison is survived by his children, his granddaughter Indie, his parents, his siblings Brandon (Brooke) Vierig, Tanji (Gary) Williams, Matt (Mikki) Vierig, Mark (Kristen) Vierig, and Tristen Vierig, personal friend Hunter Kammerman, and his former wife Jana Darling. He is survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews all of whom held a special place in his heart and have fond memories of time spent with him.

Jamison loved his kids beyond measure. He was proud of them and all of their life accomplishments. You will be missed Jamison and most definitely not forgotten.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date for close friends and family.
