Brent Ronald Layman
It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our beloved Father, Grandfather, Brother, and Friend, Brent Ronald Layman at the age of 60, on March 5, 2025. Born on August 11, 1964 in Ogden, Utah.
He was always goofy, thoughtful and artistic growing up. He loved nature. He loved the Lord. He tried to be like and follow Jesus. He belonged to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served a mission in England in 1986. He went on to attend art school and went to Ricks College in Idaho. He then met Lesli Tillack. He married Lesli on June 26, 1989 in the Jordan River Temple. Together they had 6 children. The adventures they went on as a family were so fun and frequent. Camping, fishing, hiking, picnic lunches, BBQing, out at the Valley of Fire, Mt. Charleston, going to the wetlands, and Lake Mead. Attending baseball games were a favorite of his too. They were marries for 26 years before her passing in 2015. They lived in Las Vegas with their kids.
In 2019 Brent moved to Lander, Wyoming. He was known for his goofy adventurous nature, his unfailing faith, his passion for serving others, and his love for his family. Brent was a caregiver for disabled adults for 25 years. He found joy in fishing, biking, hiking, going to antique stores, going to church, painting, making artwork, taking care of others, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Some of his favorite things were; birds, Donald Duck, root beer floats, cookies, hotdogs, baseball, Mountain Dew, turquoise, Native American jewelry, Dennis Quaid, and Kevin Costner movies, and Randy Travis songs.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He had a silly sense of humor and a love for life. He made a difference in the world by showing love and kindness to everyone. He will never be forgotten.
Brent is survived by his children, Shailee and Shane Peters and their children, Lylah, Maximus; Tenaya, Travis, Alexie, McKayla and Dakota Leonhardt and Aubriana. Along with all his siblings, Bob, Vicki and Kurt, Darren and Shelly, Lance and Marty, and Diana and Bruce.
A memorial in his honor will be held Saturday, April 19, 2025, at 4:00 pm, in Las Vegas, Nevada at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints church building, located at 1775 N. Christy Lane, Las Vegas, Nevada 89156.
