Our beloved Shauna passed away on Sept. 24, 2025. She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on Oct. 31, 1948 (Halloween). A birthday she did not like sharing with trick-or-treaters!

Shauna was a kind and generous soul. She worked as an RN for 30 years in emergency rooms at Holy Cross Hospital and University of Utah Hospital. Her concern and caring for others carried over to everyone she knew. At her assisted living facilities she befriended many and made sure no one died alone… if she could be there.

She always had a beautiful yard full of flowers, birdhouses, birdbaths, bird feeders, statues and a fountain. Her home was cozy and inviting with always a beloved pet. Shauna loved animals and children and they loved her back. She always had some little gift for a child and would tell them “I lova, lova, lova you”.

Preceded in death by her mother Maxine Blackburn Henningson and step-father Neil Henningson; sister Diane Oviatt; daughter Jennifer Lynn Erickson.

Survived by her son Darin (Kristy) Nelson; Grandchildren Brandi (Jake) Johnson, Joshua Nelson, Kaela (Spencer) Hines; Great Grandchildren Odin and Eden Hines.

Also survived by siblings Lisa (Tom) Tippetts, Denise (Irv) Hillman, Joanne (Jeff) Braby, Leonard (Terry) Dennison and many nieces and nephews.

We want to thank all those who cared for Shauna at Twin Oaks Assisted Living and Inspiration Home Health. Special thanks to her home health nurses Tammy and Brooke who became such dear friends to Shauna and blessed her life more than they will ever know.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her including her beloved cat, Petunia. We are thankful she is with her Jenn again.

A private service will be held at a later date.
