Donna Jean Sanders, 66, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2026, leaving behind a legacy defined by devotion, grit, and a heart that never stopped giving. Those who knew her will forever remember her stubborn determination, her fierce loyalty, and the way she consistently put the needs of others before her own.

Donna’s life was shaped by caregiving — not as a burden, but as an expression of love. She devoted herself to caring for both of her parents at the end of their lives, offering them comfort, dignity, and unwavering presence. She extended that same compassion to her father-in-law and mother-in-law, ensuring they were surrounded by warmth and familiarity in their final days. Even her neighbor, who had no one else to rely on, found in Donna a
steady hand and a gentle soul.

One of the greatest examples of her selflessness came when she rearranged the life she had built in Phoenix and moved to Salt Lake City so she could care for her mother-in-law and brother-in-law. She uprooted everything without hesitation, guided only by her belief that family should never face hardship alone. That choice reflected the very core of who she was.

Donna loved being surrounded by family. Whether it was a holiday gathering, a simple Sunday visit, or a quick stop-in just to say hello, she came alive when her home was full. She also loved to talk — truly talk — sharing stories, checking in on everyone, and filling the room with her unmistakable voice and laughter. Conversation was her way of connecting, comforting, and showing love.

She is survived by her loving husband, Chad Sanders, who stood by her side through every chapter of life. Donna was the proud mother of John Sylvester and Mindy Gregory, and she welcomed their spouses, Marcia Beall and Phillip Gregory, into her heart as her own. Her grandchildren brought her immeasurable joy: Colby Sylvester, Tyson Sylvester, Jesse Dustin, Aaron Dustin, Shannon Dustin, and Phillip Gregory. Donna was also blessed
with two great-grandsons, Colton Dustin and Noah Gregory, who added a bright new generation to the family she cherished so deeply.

Donna leaves behind a family and community forever shaped by her generosity, strength, and quiet acts of love. Though her absence will be deeply felt, the example she set — of showing up, of caring without hesitation, of loving with her whole heart — will continue to guide those who were fortunate enough to know her.
