Born, January 25, 1962 passed away early February 16, 2026 after a long hard-fought battle with colon cancer.

Val did not just move through the world but shaped it with indomitable strength. She was a persistent reliable force of a woman who met even the hardest days head on.

Her greatest joy was her family. She poured her entire soul into her children and grandchild, ensuring that they always had a soft place to land and a strong example to follow. She taught us that love is not just a feeling but an action- one that she performed every day.

Even in her final days Val’s life was a true testament of courage, strength, loyalty and love. She was mean, ornery, and cantankerous until the very end, if you know you know.

Val was preceded in death by her mother Mary Fern Sharples, her father Morris Allred, sister Ruth Velasco, and brother Eugene McMillan. Val was survived by her mother Betty Allred, son Dennis (Jessica) Obray, granddaughter Ryder Avery Obray, brother Paul (Vicky) Sharples, sisters Lorinda (Grandpa Trey) Wade, Chelair (Bill) Etter and Judy Sharples.
