Bryan Darlington Burris
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Bryan Darlington Burris, age 45, who passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2026 in Salt Lake City, in his sleep. Bryan was born August 30, 1980 to Scott and Diane Burris. He was the oldest of six children.
Bryan married Michone Desiree Duffin on May 6, 2006, in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. They were sealed in the Draper Temple on December 9, 2023. Michone was the love of his life. His every thought was for her, her health and her happiness.
He did have a second love as well….his tiny little yorkie, Sasja. He taught her to obey with just hand signals and it was so cute to watch his interaction with her. She loved and adored him too.
Bryan was a big presence in life with a very tender, sweet heart. He had a hearty laugh, and a sparkle in his eyes when he smiled. He loved guns and he loved to go to the shooting range with family and friends as often as possible, but he also appreciated beautiful art and the quiet simple solitude of nature. Beautiful simple things could bring a tear to his eye.
Bryan was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and he also enjoyed an association with The Rocky Mountain Lodge 11 of the Masons, and had a great group of friends who call themselves The Wolves. They watched out for each other – they always had each other’s back.
Bryan had various jobs during his lifetime that gave him experience in being compassionate and respectful to the public as well as to his colleagues. Bryan was working at Lakes Inc. Guns and Gunsmithing at the time of his death - a job he enjoyed, not just because he enjoyed the work, but he loved the people he worked with and the customers they serve. He said, “This is the hardest job that I have loved.”
Bryan is survived by: his wife Michone, his Mother Diane Burris, his Father Scott Burris; his brother and dearest friend Rick; his sisters Jennifer, Tiffany (Chad), Crissy, Heidi as well as David, Michael and Melissa; his Grandmother Janice Darlington; his mother-in- Law Mirjam E. Duffin; father-in-Law, Gerald N. Duffin; sister-in-Law Charmaine Duffin; aunts, uncles and many cousins - And his many wonderful friends. He is proceeded in death by his Grandfather Courtney M. Darlington; and his uncle Scott Darlington.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
