Harold Eugene Howell
June 22, 1952- May 8, 2026
Harold was born June 22, 1952, in Logan, Utah, to Geren and Liselotte Howell. He was fourth out of five children. He grew up in Fish Haven, ID, and later moved to Ogden, UT, where he graduated from Ben Lomand High School in 1970 and attended Weber State College for automotive services. Harold had one son, Chris Howell.
Harold worked as a Volkswagen mechanic before becoming a career bus driver, dedicating almost 45 years to UTA and for few years operating school buses for local school districts. Known for his strong work ethic, he often enjoyed tinkering on various projects in his spare time. Harold cherished returning home to Fish Haven, where he loved soaking up the sunshine whenever possible. We all remember his purple Speedo!
Though he was usually the quiet one in the room, he had a knack for delivering sharp and witty comebacks. When someone asked him, “How are you feeling?” he would often reply, “With my hands.”
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Geren & Liselotte, and his older sister Julia. He is survived by his siblings Henry (Julia) Howell, Naomi (Don) Telford, Irene Howell, his son Chris (Alisa) Howell, and grandchildren Spencer & Hailey Howell.
A service/celebration of life will be held at a later date.
