Sherry Sauls Rhodes-Luke

Sherry Sauls Rhodes-Luke was born in Columbus, Georgia, on April 16, 1945. She passed away peacefully on May 12, 2026, with her beloved children, Robbin and Danny, by her side.

Sherry lived a beautifully full and adventurous life that allowed her to travel extensively and make her home in many different places, including Hawaii, California, Tennessee, Louisiana, Georgia, Alabama, Wyoming, and Utah. A driven and capable entrepreneur, she proudly owned and operated two PIP Printing shops during her time in California.

She was the epitome of class and strength, and was deeply loved by everyone who crossed her path. Sherry carried herself with an effortless elegance, bringing a sense of style and beauty to everything she touched. Her impeccable fashion sense and natural poise were well known; she even modeled for a local department store in Petaluma, California, walking in fashion shows and gracing the pages of the local newspaper on multiple occasions.

Her keen eye for design didn't stop at her wardrobe. She had a true knack for antiquing and looking at homes. Whether she was watching an episode of Home Town or going on a drive just to look at houses, she always found inspiration and was thrilled to see how others decorated, restored, or landscaped. Over the course of her life, Sherry took on many projects. Whether she was building and designing new construction from the ground up, or renovating an older house that simply needed her decorator’s touch, making things beautiful was her true passion. Her artistic talent also translated beautifully to the canvas; she was a wonderful oil painter who lovingly created several pieces that her family will forever treasure.

This devotion to creating beauty was also found in her love for gardening. She would spend countless hours outside designing, planting, and pruning. Her knowledge of plants was vast; if you quizzed her about a flower or shrub, nine times out of ten, she knew exactly what it was.

Beyond her elegance, Sherry had a fun and mischievous spirit that sometimes left you wondering if she was being serious or not. One of her family's favorite stories is the time Sherry told a car dealership that she had never owned a sports car before—despite having owned several—just so she could get the giant red bow put on the hood. She convinced them that owning a sports car was on her “bucket list.” That was just the type of girl she was; she loved to tease and brought immense joy to those around her.

Sherry is survived by her loving children, Robbin Searle and Danny Searle; her grandchildren, Brooke (Joshua) Barrett, Andrea Goetz, Shelby (Ashley) Searle, and Aspen Searle; and her great-grandchildren, Everett Searle, Cordelia Searle, and Virginia Searle.
