Samuel David Jardin

Samuel David Jardin was born on November 21, 1987 in La Mesa, California to his parents Bob and Betty Jardin. He joined his older brother, Maxwell, and was later joined by his younger brother, Wesley.

Sam grew up in the small community of Crest in California. He was all boy and frequently found trouble, or trouble found him! He had a mischievous gleam in those big brown eyes. He was very inquisitive, having questions like, “If the devil was really sorry, would God forgive him?”; or he would start many a question with, “Hey Dad,” his early version of the internet.

He had many childhood friends: Sara, Scott, Buford, and Earl, with whom he spent much time playing video games, lemon ball, and sharing laughs. He also spent many hours with his cousins, swimming and playing airsoft.

At the age of 12 Sam was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease and dealt with multiple symptoms and hospital stays. After many failed attempts of conventional treatments, the Maker’s diet allowed him to attend high school his senior year. He excelled in academics and had a photographic memory. He graduated with honors from Granite Hills High School in 2005. He soon started work at Shadow Mountain Community Church in the operations department, with his brother Max and was later joined by brother Wes – Yes, the Jardin boys were a force to be reckoned with.

In 2014 Sam followed Wesley and Kaitlin to Utah. He was hired by West Valley City Parks and Recreation where he worked for over 10 years at the Family Fitness Center. There he made many friends among his coworkers and patrons, whom we know will fondly remember him.

He was the king of sarcasm, the master procrastinator, and was a quick wit. He enjoyed movies, Legos, video games and bodybuilding…he liked lifting heavy things. He was an avid collector of guns and knives. Above all, Sam loved being an uncle to his two nieces and four nephews. From stealing babies out of grandma’s arms to sword fights in the back yard, he was the fun uncle.

Sam was diagnosed with colon cancer in May, 2025. He endured chemo, surgery, and radiation, but the cancer returned with a vengeance in June of this year. On Monday, July 6th, Sam went home to be with the Lord.

Sam is survived by his parents Bob and Betty, brothers Maxwell and Wesley; their wives Samantha and Kaitlin; nieces Leia and Ada; nephews Aston, Tobias, Lawrence, and Gareth; his grandmother Peggy Stamback and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
