Brandon Lee Hommes
Brandon Lee Hommes, 56, of Salt Lake City, Utah, passed away in his home on July 7, 2026. He was born on August 5, 1969, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Brandon grew up in Murray, Utah, where he attended Murray High School before becoming an exceptionally skilled tradesman. Whether it was roofing, concrete, mechanics, welding, coaching, or building something from scratch, there wasn't much he couldn't do. If something needed to be fixed, Brandon was the person to call.
Throughout his life, Brandon built his world around his daughters, friends, laughter, and his Harley-Davidson. He will be remembered for his contagious laugh, his kind heart, his willingness to help anyone in need, and the unmistakable voice you could hear long before you saw him.
During his thirties and forties, Brandon's favorite place was wherever his daughters were playing ball. He never missed a game, spending countless evenings and weekends coaching, cheering, and encouraging them from the baseline. Watching his girls play was one of the greatest joys of his life. He devoted endless hours to helping Randi and Breauna develop their love for the game, making sure they always had a glove, a ball, and every opportunity to chase their dreams.
While softball became a passion for his older girls, Jara found her favorite place was just right beside her dad. Whether they were riding in his side-by-side, dune buggy, sharing a bag of “pocky”, battling each other in Guitar Hero, or helping him coach from the sidelines – simply spending time together became the memories they both cherished.
When Brandon wasn't spending time with his girls, he was often at the Sand Dunes or on his Harley, riding with all of his best friends that became family, creating stories and memories that would last a lifetime.
Above all else, Brandon was a devoted father. His greatest accomplishment wasn't the things he built with his hands, but the love he poured into his daughters and the countless memories he created with them. His laughter, generosity, and larger-than-life presence will be deeply missed, but the lessons he taught, the stories he gave, and the love he shared will live on in everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Brandon is survived by his daughters; Randi, Breauna and Jara Hommes; Aubrie and John Scott whom he was grateful to reconnect with and his grandson, Logan Scott; Mark Robles and family who took him in under their wings; his brother Jason Hommes and step mom Sandy Butterfield Duncan. He is preceded in death by his father Ulrich Wilhelm Hommes and step father Keith William Duncan.
A celebration of life/birthday party will be held Saturday August 8, 2026 at the Barbary Coast Bar in Murray, UT at 6:00 PM. Ride your Harley or wear your Harley gear in honor of Brandon.
