Ralph L Hurtado

Ralph L. Hurtado, known lovingly as "Ralpie" to those closest to him, passed away on July 18, 2026 while in the flower garden on a sunny Saturday afternoon. He was 62 years old, born on February 26, 1964, in Magna, Utah.

Ralph's life was not always easy, but you would never have known it from the way he carried himself. He faced every challenge with a smile on his face and a positive attitude that lifted everyone around him. He was a little fighter, through and through, and that fighting spirit defined everything about who he was.

Ralph found joy in simple, meaningful things. He loved gardening alongside his big brother Scott, getting his hands in the dirt and watching things grow. More than anything, he loved taking care of the people he cared about, especially his beloved mother, Jerry Lou Tafoya. When she passed on September 28, 2025, Ralph missed her dearly, and that loss stayed close to his heart every single day.

To his siblings, he was the best little brother you could ever have. To his friends, he was as great and loyal as they come. Ralph had a way making people feel like they mattered, and his warmth left a lasting mark on everyone who knew him.

Ralph is survived by his brothers, Scott E. Hurtado and Jerry Dean Hurtado, and his sister, Gena M. Mendez. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jerry Lou Tafoya, and his sister, Beth Duffey.

Ralpie, you are with Mom, Beth, and Izzy now. Goodbye, little fighter.
