Judith Ann Shannon Oram
Judy left our loving presence in the early morning hours of July 23 rd 2026 surrounded and held by her 2 daughters and 4 granddaughters. We take comfort in knowing that
she was immediately reunited with her husband who passed away one year earlier. Their hearts could not be apart.
Judy was born in Provo, Utah and raised in Pleasant Grove. She was surrounded throughout her childhood by the love of her mother Dixie, her siblings Jeanette and Mike as well as many other extended family members.
Her elementary school years were full of friendships and playfulness. Judy attended and graduated from Pleasant Grove High School and enjoyed her time on the yearbook staff and Pep Squad where she would cheer and welcome the Viking teams to their games.
Judy wore her hair very short in high school earning her the nickname “Shag Shannon” of which she was known by and loved. As post High school would have it, Judy caught the eye of Jerald Jacobs. They would chase up and down P.G. Main Street, Judy in blue Ranchero and Jerald in his red Buick Skylark.
After dating, they eventually married in a gorgeous backyard wedding at the Jacobs home in Manila. Judy and Jerald made their first home in Alpine where they had 3 children Anjeanette, Jubalen and Shan.
Later Judy married Robert McKinney, which brought our adored brother Josh to us.
As the cliché so brilliantly states: “The third time’s the charm” Judy found the love of her life and soul mate Ron Oram. They were married for 36 years and lived there together, ranching in Indianola and Milburn, Utah. Judy preferred and embodied the simple ways of life.
Judy loved animals and groomed dogs for 8 years. Her love of animals took her to South Valley Large Animal Clinic where she worked alongside Dr. Rees assisting in surgical procedures on horses and managing the front desk responsibilities.
Judy was an incredible artist and found her passion in sculpture, clay being her medium. She would sculpt her children and even Diana Ross. Judy took private lessons from Dennis Smith and had a show in Nevada alongside other artists. Later in life Judy enjoyed working with pottery and sculpting Native Americans. In addition, ball jointed dolls found their way to her. She created an Instagram full of her work with the dolls which included painting their faces and designing the clothes.
Judy’s favorite things in life were her family, Mother Nature, the changing seasons, working with her hands as an artist and animals including her many dogs in the way of French Bulldogs and Pugs.
Judy loved laughter. She knew how to laugh, big open mouth guttural laughter all the time. Her laughter was a cherished gift- Judy’s life reflected strength, resilience and determination.
Judy is survived by her brother Mike Shannon (Calene), two daughters Anjeanette Jacobs (Wendy), and Jubalen Jacobs. Her 4 stepchildren Brett (Jolynn), Becky Higginson (Brian), Bill (Rachele), and Lee (Courtney). Her five granddaughters, Shelbie Shill (Sam), Hannah Larsen (Colby), Brielle Nicholes (Shawn), Shannon Shill and Kaydence McKinney. Her two grandsons Colton Humphries and Hayden McKinney. Judy has 5 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her mother Dixie Shannon, her sister Jeanette Shannon, her husband Ron Oram, and her two sons, Shan Jacobs and Joshua McKinney.
There will be a private service held for Judy in Pleasant Grove, Utah.
