Julia Marie Campbell

1944 - 2026

Julia Marie Campbell was born June 29, 1944, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Leonard and Cecelia Zimmerman. She passed away on August 25, 2026, at the age of 82.
One of six children, Julia grew up at Saltair Village alongside her twin sister, Judy, with whom she shared a lifelong bond.

Julia was the mother of two daughters, Rebecca “Becky” McKendrick and Rachel Gonzales. During their early years, the family lived in Oregon before moving to Hawaii, where Julia raised her daughters. She later returned to Utah, where she spent the remainder of her life.

Julia had a wide range of interests throughout her life. She enjoyed crafting, scrapbooking, sewing, and family history. She also had a longtime love of science fiction, especially Star Trek and E.T.

Family remained an important part of Julia’s life. She was especially fond of her grandchildren, and the arrival of her great-grandson brought her great enjoyment.

She is survived by her daughters, Becky McKendrick (Robert) and Rachel Gonzales (Ron); her twin sister, Judy Eckman; her grandchildren Ronald Gonzales II (Christa), Anna Miera, Carmen Miera, and Johnathan Gonzales; and her great-grandson, Ronald Gonzales III.

Julia was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Cecelia Zimmerman; her siblings Lorraine Gingras, John Zimmerman, Catherine Priskorn, and Marion Navath; and her grandsons Victor Miera and David Gonzales.

Julia’s daughters are going to honor and respect the wishes of their mother. Julia was clear that she wished to be kept in everyone’s fond memories of the time they spent together and stated that she did not want a funeral or public service. Her daughters and their families appreciate everyone’s understanding as they honor her wishes.
