Jason Stuart Lehnig

Jason Stuart Lehnig, 43, passed away on August 25, 2026. Born on September 20, 1982, he was the son of Cynthia Pomikala Lehnig and the late Stuart Norbert Lehnig. He died following complications of a long‐term illness.

Jason spent many years married to Stephanie Van Wagoner, and he most recently worked at a job he loved for the Walmart Distribution Center in Grantsville, Utah.

Jason was a thoughtful and complex individual with a deep affection for his cats, who were constant sources of comfort and joy. His interests included genealogy, collecting action figures, and watching watching the Utah Jazz. He had a love of learning and a sharp mind that made him a natural debater on nearly any topic.

Jason is survived by his mother, Cynthia Pomikala Lehnig; his sister, Kristy Hales; and his brother, Chad W. Hales. He was preceded in death by his father, Stuart Lehnig; and his grandparents, Norbert and Marianne Lehnig, and Thomas and Phyllis Pomikala.

No service will be held. In honor of Jason’s beloved cats, the family asks that donations be made to a local animal shelter in lieu of flowers.
