Kathryn Ilene Eckerdt

Kathryn “Kathy” Ilene Eckerdt was born on November 9, 1954 in Mesa, Arizona. She passed
away with family on August 17, 2026, at the age of 71. She was the 10th of 11 children born to
Raymond and Ethel Harris. Kathy grew up in Turlock, Ca. and retired to Springville, Utah in the
fall of 2020.
Kathy was known for her joking sense of humor and her joyous laughter. She enjoyed
photography, music, sewing, playing games, watching football, and exploration of family
history. Most of all, Kathy loved being a grandmother.
Kathy is survived by her children, Chad (Chyllis) Scott, Alaina Eckerdt, Justin (Kristie) McLean;
six grandchildren; her siblings Raymond Harris, Anthony (Joyce) Harris, Archie Harris, Frank
Harris, Patricia (Michael) Ward, Sandra (Daniel) Hansen, and many nieces and nephews. She
was preceded in death by her husband Rodney Eckerdt; her parents; siblings, Annie (Richard)
Davich, Mary (Alfredo “Dino”) Potestio, Fred Harris, Stephen Harris; and her son, Andrew.
Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we find comfort in knowing that Kathy’s love remains
with us.
